Course Summary:
First Responder Operations (FRO): This course trains first responders at the operations level to respond in a defensive manner to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances as part of an initial response. This content focuses on tactics a responder can use to protect persons, the environment, and property from the effects of a hazardous materials release. This course combines lecture, group activities, exercises and a written exam.

This program meets OSHA requirements and NFPA recommendations for training at the First Responder Operations level. Upon completion of this course, participants will be tested based on Pro Board Standards, and if sucessfully passed, will be entered into the Pro Board National Registry.

Course Summary:
First Responder Operations – Pro Board®: This course provides the same core training as the 16-hour CSTI FRO course, but also provides certification by Pro Board® to the Hazardous Materials Awareness/Operations: Mission Specific: PPE, Product Control level. After completion, each participant is automatically entered into the Pro Board® certification registry.
This course trains first responders at the operations level to respond in a defensive manner to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances as part of an initial response. It includes the training and testing of job performance requirements (JPRs) identified in the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA’s) professional qualification standard 1072. This 32-hour course combines lecture, group activities, exercises and a written exam administered through the CSTI learning management system.
This program meets OSHA requirements and NFPA recommendations for training at the First Responder Operations level. It also meets the California Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) requirement for Hazardous Materials Awareness/Operations: Mission Specific: PPE, Product Control, which is required as part of their certification for Firefighter 1.

The object of this refresher class is to update, gain knowledge and skills to maintain competency as a Hazardous Materials Technician/ Specialist first responder.

This course provides the tools a person needs to assume control of an emergency response to a hazardous materials incident. Instructional methods include class activities, case studies and a final, graded table top group exercise which includes creating an Incident Action Plan.

Course Summary:
This CSTI course trains certified Technicians and Specialists in the intricacies of terrorism and potential weapons that might be encountered in a terrorist attack. Using updates and current events, augmented by specialists from bomb squads, clandestine laboratory responders and other currently serving professionals, this class improves awareness and operational capabilities, increases knowledge and improves competencies in the field. Completion of this course qualifies for HazMat WMD Team Typing.

This course is designed to train First Responder Operations level personnel to perform technical decontamination during a response to a hazardous materials incident.

Course Summary:
This course focuses on the proper execution of decontamination during emergency operations. Participants will don and doff Level-B personal protective equipment and will perform decontamination in functional exercises. REST LLC will provide all consumable items necessary to complete this class, and participants will use a state-of-the-art simulation system allowing them to perform decon on live people, including radiological events.
